About the Position:
Blaster / Painter position in the Clean & Coat department on 2nd shift.
Primary Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Working safely is first and foremost.
Prepares material for painting.
Responsible for accurate and efficient blasting of materials for painting.
Responsible for measuring and documenting blast profile.
Removes completed material from the work area or calls assistance to do so.
Meets safety and good housekeeping standards.
Handles hazardous waste.
Responsible for safe operation of material handling equipment (hoists).
Responsible for general maintenance and cleaning of blast equipment.
Must be able to clean Stainless Steel components via methods of Water blast operation.
Must be able to efficiently perform duties of flow coating internal screw pumps
Prepares material for painting.
Responsible for accurate and efficient application of coatings.
Hooks up and positions material before and after painting.
Removes completed material from the work area.
Maintains safe storage of paints, coatings, thinner and cleaning solutions.
Meets safety and good housekeeping standards.
Handles hazardous waste.
Responsible for wet mil checks during coating process.
Responsible for performing Dry Film Thickness (DFT) checks and recording to proper documents.
Responsible for general cleaning and maintenance of paint equipment

General Position Summary:
To prepare railcars and parts for painting, masks, primes, caulks and paints railcars and parts. This is a "heavy, physically demaning job".

Painter Helper - Inskip Collision Center
The Painter Helper assists in the refinishing of damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and dealership quality specifications and time standards.
Performs vehicle inspections, marks areas for dent repair, body work, refinishing, buffing, waxing and painting
Removes rust from metal, and grease and dirt from work surface prior to painting
Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated
Fills cavities and dents with appropriate filler material to attain smooth surface
Mixes paint according to manufacturer's specifications
Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color
Paints surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate to achieve quality repair
Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags, and unpainted area and corrects
Heats and sprays wax or other appropriate coatings onto vehicles and products after they are tested
Operates all required equipment to perform necessary repairs in a safe manner and in accordance with company policies and applicable local, state and federal regulations
Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer and in accordance with company policies
Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management immediately
Communicates with service advisor and/or dispatcher if additional work is needed
Ensures that customer vehicles kept clean during repair process
Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended and communicates this information as needed to appropriate body shop or service personnel
Verifies that repairs and painting are complete and to quality standards prior to submitting for final approval
Contains costs by using warranty or insurance as needed; evaluating service and parts options for repairs
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt of parts, paints and supplies

Main Purpose of Job
Provides all of the interior and exterior painting needs/requirements of a large size State facility for the purpose of maintaining the professional appearance.
This position is responsible for preparing and painting walls, ceilings, trim work doors, furniture and various exterior finishes. This also includes dry wall taping, spackling and chalking. This entails the use of stains, sealers and other coloring and hard finishes.
Education: Completion of the eighth grade.
Experience: Four years of experience in painting work.
1.Additional painting experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the required education.
2.A degree from an accredited vocational or technical high school with a concentration in painting may be substituted for up to three years of the required painting experience.
3.Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Painters, Construction and Maintenance classifications or Painters, Construction and Maintenance specialty codes in the Painting field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Trinity Industries is searching for a Lead Painter in our Longview, TX Plant 19 location.
What you'll do:
Prepare materials, surfaces and structures for coverage with paint, laminate, rubber or other material.
Apply coatings to specifications and complete detailed special applications as appropriate to the surface and final product requirements.
Prepare, coat and finish metal and/or other surfaces.
Operate conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other types of surfaces.
Mix and apply alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, powder coats, urethane, zinc epoxies and water borne paint systems according to a prescribed formula.
Adjust nozzles on spray guns to obtain the proper dispersion of the spray and monitor the flow and viscosity of the paint for solution.
Proper use of mill gauge and monitors pressure amount.
Clean paint lines, paint guns and perform other cleaning preventative maintenance to ensure that painting apparatus remains in working order.
Regulate the temperature and air circulation in drying ovens.

Must have a minimum of 5 years or more experience as a Painter. #Environmental / Working Conditions This position is mostly subject to inside environmental conditions; however, may be required to be outdoors occasionally.
May require frequent work with environmental hazards (i.e., noisy environment, contact with infectious agents, near power supplies / machinery, etc). Occasionally may require work with toxic chemicals. Danger from falls, cuts and abrasions is present. Subject to call back at all times.
Telephone or equivalent is required. #Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships Interacts on a daily basis with staff, visitors and patients. #Job Description Performs a variety of duties in and around the hospital complex. Performs all tasks relating to the painting trade in accordance with DNV standards and all other applicable ordinances; including, but not limited to, painting, hanging wallpaper, borders, and hanging, taping, floating sheetrock. Performs all other duties as assigned. #Required Licensures / Certifications / Registrations None required. #Physical Capabilities Work is of medium demand (ie., walking, climbing, stooping, physical exertion and heavy lifting on occasion). #Skills and Abilities Must be skilled in all tasks relating to the painting trade.
Must be able to match colors and borders. Must have a good brush hand for enamel trim, etc. Must be knowledgeable in applying joint compound smoothly.
Must have knowledge of applying texture. Must be familiar with all types of paint application. Must possess a general knowledge of construction. Must work well with others and be a team player.
