JOB SUMMARY: Our Central Shops Scenic Painters provide comprehensive scenic painting services in a workshop facility which is instrumental in maintaining and expanding the visual portion of the guest experience at Universal Orlando Resorts.
Paint various props (ex. - wood graining, aging, textures) to match existing surfaces.
Perform layout, sculpting, theming and painting of various props from Artist direction and/or conceptual drawings.
Perform air brush and conventional spraying, fades and blending
Perform cosmetic fiberglass repairs and gel coats utilizing various materials.
Documentation of paints and procedures used in modifications and repairs.
EDUCATION: High school degree or GED is required. Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two year college or technical school is preferred.
- 3-5 years' experience in theme painting and air brush painting. Color matching and blending of new to existing finishes is necessary
- 5-7 years proven experience in a similar work environment dealing with critical paint issues.
Knowledge of all phases of paint, fiberglass and sculpting are needed to be successful in this job classification. Free Style painting is a plus.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Florida Drivers License/ required to operate company vehicles.

Responsibilities will include performing the required repairs and improvements of the internal walls, staircases, doors, etc., to maintain the facility in its original condition. Will also perform door and window replacements, assisting with furniture moves, and assisting the grounds maintenance department with snow removal. Other responsibilities will include contacting contractors for facility related issues.
Working hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., as well as working evening/weekend/holiday rotating shifts and on an on-call status.
High school diploma or GED is required.
Valid PA Driver's license in good standing is also required.
Required: 1-3 years general construction and painting
Preferred: 1-3 years light carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skills.
Performs painting duties as assigned.
Prepares all surfaces for paint, uses drop cloths and masking tape to protect surfaces.
Applies primer or mildewcide prior to paint where needed.
Applies paint to prepared exterior or interior surfaces by use of paint gun, roller or brush.
Applies caulking where needed.
Applies concrete stain to walkways and entrances.
Mixes paint to achieve desired color.

Works under limited supervision, responsible to perform a variety of duties efficiently with high quality results.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Prepare; preserve pumps, and spray paint assemblies and accessories as required by contract or Gardner Denver Nash standard procedures.
Work under limited supervision and complete tasks in an efficient time frame with high quality.
Abide by all safety regulations and wear required safety equipment.
Rig units into and out of spray booth using overhead cranes or fork truck.
Blast clean product and maintain associated equipment.
Maintain and clean equipment as required.
Perform various housekeeping and maintenance functions.
Read and understand work related blueprints and have basic understanding of shop equipment.
Follow all safety rules, environmental regulating procedures and utilize required safety equipment when appropriate.
Perform other duties as required.
Position requires working knowledge of industrial painting and maintenance of painting equipment.
Position requires high school diploma or trade school graduate with one year experience in the painting field. Ability to read blueprints.
Incumbent must follow all safety rules, environmental procedures and utilize required safety equipment.
Employee must wear respirator protection and as required by OSHA regulation shall be fit tested for a respirator and shall have a medical evaluation performed yearly
Employee shall be clean shaven for proper seal fit of respirator protection equipment at all times while performing painting or blasting.
