The DCR system includes over 450,000 acres of parks, forests, water supply protection lands, beaches, lakes, ponds, playgrounds, swimming pools, skating rinks, golf courses, trails and parkways. The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks qualified applicants for the position of Sign Painter and Letterer I. Primary duties include the overall installation of signs at Department of Conservation and Recreation Parks, Facilities and Roadways following all safety rules and regulations per the Manual of Uniform Control Devices (MUTCD), OSHA and DCR standards.
Position will construct various wood sign frames and assist with the fabrication of signs. SPECIFIC DUTIES: Perform the installation of all types of signage utilizing metal and wood posts and various fasteners.
Perform related duties such as operating various hand, power and pneumatic tools such as hammer, drill press, table saw, rotary hammer drill, rhino post driver and rock drill. Assist with fabrication of specific signs by designing, plotting and printing lettering, graphics and images utilizing the Gerber Scientific, Adobe Design Suite CS3 and Roland software and hardware Fabricate signs, lettering and graphics and install signs in accordance to the Manual of Uniform Control Devices (MUTCD) and DCR Sign and Vehicle standards.
