Responsible for operating power lift equipment to assist in the efficient flow of merchandise into and out of the distribution center.

You must attend to the automatic bulk palletizer and depalletizer machines and perform various duties associated with these machines. The tools and equipment you will use include automatic bulk palletizers and depalletizer, FP Inspection equipment, conveyors, rollers, bottle rake, knife and hand lift.
Attends palletizers supplying pallets, tier sheets, operates controls and ensures that tiers are properly formed and transported.
Sees that palletizer machines continue to operate and function as designed to do. Involves some button pushing.
Keeps work area clean and orderly. Removes trash and cullet.
Turns off equipment in case of malfunction and notifies supervisor or repairman.
Unjams palletizer by stopping it, removing affected material, and then restarting palletizer.
Observes bottles for obvious defects and removes defects.
Manually places tier sheets, as required, and occasionally manually handles pallets.
Removes excess ware from bulk loading area and fills voids on tier loads as required.
Get sample bottle defects and challenge FP inspection machines located in the area... may have to pass bottles thru FP machines to check bottle quality or determine the efficiency of the machine.
Unjam lines to keep the lines flowing.
Per instruction by Quality Group, hold bulk loads by writing on "Hold-Do Not Ship" sheet and affix to the pallet load.
Prepares and attaches load tickets.
Builds load manually, as required during a breakdown.
You will report to the Shift Foreman.

Palletizer - Day Shift
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for picking, inspecting, and packing quality parts into boxes on his/her assigned Thermoforming Line.
Accurately counting parts to ensure that customers get a consistent, quality product.
Bagging counted parts, and placing into correct box on the assigned production line.
Assure that each box is properly sealed to minimize the potential for damage.
Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Job Description: Summary
This position is responsible for operating the automatic palletizer, related conveyor systems, stretchwrap machines, and manifesting equipment.
Follow all plant safety policies and procedures. Be actively involved in safety, participate in safety programs, engaged in safety activities, perform risk assessments and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members.
Start-up and shut down palletizers, wrappers and related conveyor systems.
While the system is in operation, troubleshoot mechanical operations of equipment.
Check for and pull out damaged cases coming through the system. Set up proper sequence for 9 block patterns of stacking.
Insert slip sheets in proper location in pallets of cases. During times when the palletizer is down, assist in hand stacking cases.
Be available to put pallets in the pallet dispenser when necessary.

JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
To control the movement of filled customer orders to the staging location on the loading dock.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Using correct lifting procedures, the palletizer removes each tote/case from the conveyor belt.
The palletizer reads the load and stop number on each tote/case, placing all the totes/cases for each stop number on one pallet.
Stops when possible should always be placed on the pallet side by side with the labels facing out.
The palletizer counts the number of totes/cases for each stop, verifying the correct load numbers, and records the number of totes for each stop on the Tote Recap Sheet.
Only one load number is placed on a pallet. Never mix load numbers on one pallet.
Using the pallet jack, the palletizer transfers the pallet to the loading dock, at the correct door for loading.
A palletizer may be required to select several orders, at the onset of a shift.
Palletizer may be required to assist with filling outs or shorts.
Palletizer will report to supervisor/crew leader during slow periods, and complete any other work assigned.
Communicates with fellow employee's on the selection line to make sure the orders are kept in stop/batch sequence and placed onto the conveyor by load number.
Participates in all clean up activities, which may include, but are not limited to: sanitation responsibilities, mopping, sweeping, dusting, facing and down stacking product, and/or helping out other departments.

The order assembly picker/loader is responsible for picking orders, palletizing, loading and unloading products and/or cases, and working any station or line that is assigned. The order assembly picker/loader works anywhere in the Load-out/Freezer/Cooler areas that may be assigned.

A production palletizer/heavy lifter will be responsible for unstacking, stacking, picking up and inspecting multiple items.
Palletizer responsible for:
Inspect pallet jacks before use in production
Reads production and stacking pattern to determine sorting and transfer procedures, arrangement of packages on pallet, and destination of loaded pallet.
Transfer pallets of finished product to Automatic Pallet Wrapper using motorized pallet jack.
Observes packages moving along conveyor to identify packages and to detect defective packaging, and removes defective cases to assigned pallet.
Ensure tape machine (Little David) is always full and replace with new tape when needed.
Verify each product has the correct label before the 1st label is applied to any cases. The correct label will include the appropriate Product name, code, batch # with lot code, cookie size and case count. Adheres label to each case by hand in sequential order when needed.
Ensure label maker (Label-Aire) is always full of labels and operating correctly, ability to trouble shoot problems,
Prints labels using computer.
Ensures that any unused labels from a previous batch or product are discarded.
Makes sure that Columbus Lite is closed at the end of every shift to clear labels queue
Document Traceability using forms (license plate, etc.) before another product can be started.
Use Scan guns to generate License Plate number for each pallet of product.
Documents metal detection using forms and documentation. Testing is done hourly or at every new product using the designated test cards. Notify the supervisor if the metal detector fails to catch the test cards. At the end of the shift a test must be done to verify the metal detector was operating correctly.
Ensure O.K. box erector & bag inserter are full of boxes, bags and tape at all times.
Turns selector switch on palletizer to control stacking arrangement of packages on pallet and to transfer loaded pallet to freezer or delivery platform.
Ensure case packer (AFA) is in working order, clear jams and ensure box magazine is always full.
Supplies lines with appropriate pallets and must have ability to use electric powered Pallet Jack.
Stops equipment to clear jams and have the ability to troubleshoot issues.
Informs supervisor of equipment malfunction.
Follow procedures and policies including GMP, Allergen Control Program, Master Cleaning Schedules & Integrated Pest Management, HACCP (Food Safety), Receiving Policy, Glass & Brittle Plastics, Osha Guidelines & Standards, Safe Lifting, and the Employee Handbook.
Basic business requirements: attendance, punctuality, good work habits, good personal hygiene
High school diploma or GED required.
Some computer knowledge
No previous work experience required; however prior work or volunteer experience is desirable
Willing and able to understand and accept instruction, follow directions, policies and rules
Effectively communicate with peers and superiors
Work in a safe and efficient manner
Work effectively with other people in a work group or team
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs through-out the shift
