Paintline Panel Operator
First American Resources was established in 1975 as a specialty coater producing prepainted aluminum, carbon and stainless steel in widths ranging from 0.50-29" using two-coat, single coat, thin film and striped coatings for all markets. Spooling, lacing, stamping and slitting are also performed in our integrated facility.Today our business is still coil coating which is applying organic coatings onto rolled metal strip.Coils of steel and aluminum weighing up to 10,000lbs and 28 wide are continuously cleaned, pretreated and painted on the paint line.These materials are subsequently used by customers for everything from architectural panels to appliances to automotive parts. Coil coating is the most precise, efficient and environmentally friendly method of painting metals.Integrated into our coil coating technology is slitting, spooling, stamping and lancing, which further solidifies our state-of-the-art niche capability.
The Narrow Paintline Panel Operator coordinates the functions of the narrow paintline operators on the payoff and rewind ends of the line as well as ensuring accurate production information is keyed into the computer.
ESSENTIAL Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures right raw materials are being used to produce production order.
Inputs all pertinent run information into computer for generating production run data.
Set up narrow paintline and coater settings, including line speed and tensions, roll speeds and viscosity to ensure finished coil meets customer specifications.
Generates summary reports after each production order including, but not limited to, finished goods summary report.
Produces raw material metal inventory or paint inventory reports as needed.
Maintain all aspects of the narrow paintline including, staging, clean-ups, roll grinding, packaging and general operation
Assist as backup Narrow Paintline Operator in the absence of a full crew.
Ensure work area is clean and orderly.
Participate in safety and other training programs as required.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Ensure that correct material (type, size, heat lot, and quantity) is available and free from visible defects.
Prepare to set-up job or run previously set-up job by reviewing work order, tie-in sheets, operator's or setup documents, blueprints, or CATIA plots. Identify type of set-up required.
Select and install machine accessories and holding devises (e.g., collet, radius block, pressure die, clamp die, mandrel, mandrel rod, and wiper die, if needed).
Verify that apparatus is in good condition.
Adjust bending machine by setting centerline, adjusting collet, mandrel rod length, pressure die, wiper die if used, and machine pressure.
Check machine set-up and/or parts completed by previous operator to determine progress on a job and ensure safe working conditions, as required.
Perform test bend to verify that bends are within tolerance for ovality, angle, and are free from tool marks.
Perform 20 degree and 120 degree bends and measure angles of those bends using protractor to check for spring back.
Enter measured angles into control panel of bending machine if different than required angle to reset proportional and constant spring back and achieve drawing bend angle. Check tubes using five axis digitizer (Super Gauge) and enter data into tube bending machine to make any needed corrections of bend angles.
Set up checking fixtures on mylar pattern to index points and check tubes for correct bends and mark tube ends to be trimmed to correct length.
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials (e.g., coolants, solvents, shop towels) in approved manner (per Material Safety Data Sheets and Boeing requirements) using personal protective equipment as required.
Check work after completion of each operation in job and/or completed job to ensure parts are complete per drawing and that there are no defects.
Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) functions as required.

Properly start or restart equipment afterpower is interrupted or as a new start up. Re-zero all axes and begin machining process at proper point in program.
Keep machines consistently running
Identify non conformances utilizing trace,CMM and various inspection methods
Use required hand tools and magnifyingequipment to complete parts to process
Adjust and make offsets to bring parts withintolerance
Read and utilize process plan, blueprints,and program in prescribed sequence
Properly place parts, casting or stock inmachine securely and accurately
Operate machines to perform prescribedfunctions on drawings
Read and interpret complex engineeringdrawings, blueprints, customer specification and internal drawings andprocedures
Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and
Bring machine tool back to desired locationand resume cycle if cycle has been interrupted. Understand function of proper usage and resetting of Emergency StopButton
Ensure tool lengths correspond to offsetregister. Have full working knowledge of tool presetter
Identify alarm codes and respond withcorrective measures
Understand status lights, door interlocks,interlock released light and button. On/off buttons, and panel lock key.
Understand multi-screen functions, alpha and numeric keypads and machine controls(i.e. alter, insert, delete, input, up, down, lft ,rght, pos, prog, system,message, settings, network, etc.)
Operate and Understand function of modeswitch and function keys (i.e. mem, mid, tape, edit, handle, job, rapid, zeroreturn, SBK. OSP. BDT. PSM. PST. DRN).
Properly use directional jog buttons, rapidtraverse override buttons, and feed rate override buttons
Determine and input proper wear and geometryoffsets
Evaluate tooling to determine if free frombreaks, chips and abnormal wear
Follow all Eaton safety policies andstandards
Fulfill the requirements of the QualityPolicy and Quality Management System
Maintain a clean and safe working environmentadhering to 5S Principles
Other duties as assigned
High School Diploma or equivalent from anaccredited institution required.
2 years of experience in a manufacturingenvironment
1 year experience in a manufacturingenvironment operating a CNC machine

Technical degree in manufacturing, machining,or related field
