Perform various production jobs and duties as required to meet the needs of the mill. There are a total of nine (9) production jobs and the requirement is to have the ability to qualify on at least seven (7) of the nine (9) jobs. Starting pay rate is $16.85 per hour.
How you will impact WestRock:
Unload OCC from trucks and complete all associated paper work involved for materials coming into the warehouse.
Operate a grab truck to unload, store, retrieve, and cut wires from bales and place bales on chain conveyor to feed Pulper.
Maintain a steady and uninterrupted supply of OCC bales to the Pulper.
Have working knowledge in the selection of the appropriate mix of various types of OCC bales to the Pulper.
Cut, remove and control all ragger tails at pulper.
Maintain, with a computerized system, all stock levels to the Mill, ensuring level consistency, etc.
Operate the Reel utilizing mechanical controls as well as computer control.
Operate the Winder to ensure paper rolls are cut and prepared to Customer specification. This includes manual operation of systems as well as computerized control.
Load rolls of finished product onto trailers and rail cars for delivery to customer.
Maintain housekeeping standards in all areas of the mill.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Must be able to push/pull 50+ pounds.
Ability to work 12 hour shifts in hot and cold environment.
Ability to climb up and down steps on frequent basis during 12-hour shift.
Ability to stand, squat and bend on a frequent basis during 12-hour shift.
Use of hands, arms in close quarters to operate heavy machinery.
Must be able to work on floors that are uneven and often wet.
Ability to maintain attention at high level to job operations for 12-hour periods.

Paper Finishing Operator - C Shift
As a Finishing operator (OTM II), you will be responsible for functions occurring within the Finishing center operations. You may be assigned to duties that include: packaging slit rolls to customer specifications, operating the manual packaging line, cutting cores, banding, etc. This requires the understanding of Avery Dennison standard packaging practices and the Exact program packing requirements. Higher level roles in the Finishing operations include the operation of slitting, rewinding and/or automated packaging equipment. This position may be required to rotate. You will work C Shift (12:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.).

Digital Press Operator: Operate high resolution color Digital printers and proprietary imaging equipment. Program and prepare jobs for printing. Maintain daily print job production logs and daily delivery manifests. Setup, program and release jobs from print queue. Adjust image position, color quality and resolution, perforations and folds on paper, etc. Monitor quality of job output for correctness and image quality.
Requires knowledge of standard set ups, adjustments and operating characteristics of the equipment and skill to perform standard adjustments and operate the equipment. Good knowledge of digital print equipment with ability to set up, operate, and make adjustments to the equipment according to the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment. Knowledgeable about routine maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
Requires excellent knowledge of digital print and/or ink jet equipment set up, adjustment, operating procedures, and a corresponding level of skill to set up, operate, and adjust the equipment. Able to set up, operate, and adjust the equipment, and in addition, diagnose, solve, and correct operating problems affecting the quality and timeliness of the service or product or function. Good knowledge of file formats for digital print. May instruct junior level operators how to complete the required corrective adjustment. Key Duties And Responsibilities

Position Title: Operator One-Color Press 1st Shift
Reports to: Production Manager or Assigned Supervisor
Location: Sauk Rapids, MN
The Silk Screen Cameo Press Operator will operate a single station cameo, remove fabric parts from the automatic press or remove fabric from the oven conveyor. The Silk Screen Cameo Press Operator will assist the automatic screen print operator in setting up and cleaning up the press. They will also record information accurately and performing quality checks as specified.
Assist Automatic Press Operator in setting up automatic multi-color press.
Set up cameo press.
Clean screen/squeegee/flood bar, roller wraps using hand tools and appropriate chemicals.
Mix inks using established written formulas, scale, and calculator.
Based on production order paperwork received from cutting information from SAP, validate that correct pieces of fabric are being silk screened, correct silk screen image is being used, and correct ink is being used.
Bundle and package according to specifications; Must be able to determine a final part count quickly and accurately.
Move silk screened cutwork to next department receiving/staging area.
Document over temperature readings, automatic press platen temperature reading using a ray gun or fabric temperature reading using a ray gun. Communicate to automatic press operator or group leader when out of specification.
Inspect for quality issues of printing on fabric pieces (cure, position, clarity & print quality, registration, shrinkage, colors, proper side of material). Notify operator of concerns.
Routinely check fabric for defects, runs, stains, etc. by distinguishing fine visual details and color variations
When cut work needs to be replaced; retrieve proper pattern from rack, draw and cut parts to be replaced from extra material that is provided with cut work or on fabric rack. Ensure proper traceability.
Support 5S process initiative by keeping work area clean. Assist in defining where things should go and put them in their place, tag items that do not belong with red tags.
Clean screens per procedures.
Notify Group leader / Maintenance when experiencing problems with equipment.
Completes required documentation including but not limited to recording production quantities, downtime, scrap, through put.
Responsible for injury prevention and promoting safety by keeping work area neat, clean and organized.

Operate and maintain the equipment in a water treatment facility in order to purify water, remove domestic and industrial pollutants and solids from the water, and return clean water, biosolids and air back to the environment.

In a closed-door digital print facility, the Digital Press Specialist brings industry-leading print technology within reach of Staples' most discerning customers. Utilizing large scale commercial digital presses, a successful candidate must multi-task to deliver their work on time, meeting and exceeding customer service standards and executing the Production Center Workflow and Quality Assurance Process. The Digital Press Specialist demonstrates proficiency in coordinating & prioritizing all aspects of the production process with substantial focus on producing a quality printed product rapidly and efficiently.
Role qualifications pertain to high volume digital presses such as HP Indigo, Xerox iGen, Kodak Nexpress, Océ VarioPrint or similar.
Press Maintenance & Operation:
Perform press cleaning, replenishing of consumables, and replacing of filters & bottles and waste containers
Monitor High Frequency Service Items (HFSI's) and perform repairs, adjustments and general maintenance procedures as necessary
Use diagnostics to troubleshoot and correct image quality artifacts
Contact and interface with press vendor support as necessary
Respond appropriately to fault, error, and alert messages
Troubleshoot problems that occur during job submission or the printing process
Ensure proper paper handling, conditioning and loading

Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a gravure press or single or multi-color offset press to print single-color, two-color, and/or multi-color work which includes large solids, screen tints, line and halftones with critical color values and registration requirements ranging from hairline to critical or operate similarly situated equipment that applies a variety of non-ink based coatings to a paper web or sheet stock.
Review job specifications to determine the press setup according to the imposition of the run (sheet wise or work and turn).
Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and checks for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register etc.
Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work.
Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required.
Performs periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
Requires thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials and specifiactions, equipment, and safety requirements and skills to perform assignments.
Skill to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings and materials needed to run the job successfully.
Skill to make a variety of difficult precise settings of controls, settings, and adjustments, and to perform routine operational maintenance of equipment.
Skill in routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
Knowledge of the appropriate amount of packing pressure needed to obtain the proper printing pressure for the type of job being run.
Skill in use of micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly.
Job requires ability to exert 20 to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 lbs. of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
Must be able to work overtime as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
