The Utah Museum of Fine Arts is looking for a paper conservation intern to assist in a condition survey of our works on paper collection. The internship provides pre-graduate conservation-program experience for those preparing to apply to a graduate training program.
This experience will include participating in a condition survey and could also include preventive conservation such as environmental monitoring, participation in our integrated pest management program through pest identification, maintenance of collections while on display (housekeeping), applying accession numbers to objects, and building specialized handling supports and enclosures for artworks in storage. The individual in this position may have the opportunity to perform some conservation treatments such as hinge removal on paper and related projects, as appropriate.
Associate's degree in a related field or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education) required. Two years of related experience, ability to use logic and reasoning to prioritize tasks, expertise using MS Office software, and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.
Database experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in a related field may be preferred.

CPE Student Grader
Duties include grading homework and other work performed by students in various CPE courses. The number of hours per week is dependent upon the number of students enrolled in the course.
Position will be terminated if KU GPA falls below the required minimum of 3.0.
Current student in the CPE department or closely related discipline;
Successful completion with a grade of at least a B in the CPE course or equivalent you wish to grade;
Maintain a minimum KU GPA of 3.0.
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.
