We have an immediate job opening for an experienced Machine Builder with Mechanical and Electrical experience who is looking to enhance their career in the Engineering / Automation Industry. This individual will primarily be responsible for machine building and assembly for custom and unique machines according to engineering specifications. A strong mechanic / mechanical background is preferred, experience with electrical wiring is a plus; on-site training will be conducted to learn specific skills.
- Perform machine building activities (primarily mechanical and electrical assembly, but pneumatic may also be required)
- Perform machine building tasks including, but not limited to assembly, wiring, mounting, fastening, drilling & taping, placing, leveling, plumbing pneumatics and/or other tube and pipe based systems, and troubleshooting
- Support machine building process through the de-bug and acceptance testing, up to and including potential on-site customer installations and start-up support
- Manage released mechanical drawings for manufacture, including: Parts making and/or modifying parts, as required
- Ability to operate metal working and metal cutting machinery for the manufacture and/or modification of custom parts

Assembly Operator Lead
Ensure uninterrupted production flow in assigned process. Provide problem support and coaching / on-the-job training to employees to ensure the day-to-day business unit department goals are being met. Communicate with a variety of support resources to resolve problems.
Provide backup to the Production Supervisor for all assigned areas.
Support the production process by filling in positions on the line when necessary to maintain the flow of work when absences occur (Vacation, PTO, Restroom breaks, etc.).
Knowledge of Lean principles in order to lead and participate in Kaizen events
Be a change agent and drive out waste throughout department through the deployment of the Lean methodology
Operate a variety of equipment applicable within assigned area (i.e., CRTs, forklifts, etc.).
Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements.
Coordinate the timely and accurate movement of material into, within and out of assigned work area as needed.
Drive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving and decision making as well as recognizing them for exceptional work.
May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Report any hazards to a Supervisor.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or G.E.D

Duties and Responsibilities
Operator will be required to assemble and/or disassemble parts into subassemblies or finished units, and to receive and stock parts and supplies. Operator will be required to use hand tools, jigs, fixtures, machines, equipment, and other means to produce a good quality product.
Processes performed will be, but not limited to, assembling, drilling, pressing, testing, fitting, filing, and storing.
Operator may be required to make visual and manual inspections, check quality, assure alignment, position, tension, record production, record scrap, keep required production records, and other operations as required.
Operator will be required to set-up, operate and adjust machines and equipment as required.
Operator must have the ability to interpret drawings and routing sheets and perform SPC as required.
Operator will be required to furnish own hand tools.
Operator will be required to maintain machines, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.
Operator must ensure that any hazardous waste generated must be properly packaged and labeled before removing from his/her area.

Performs the assembly of product on various machines to a finished product. This may include running production CNC Mills, Laser Markers, Spot Welders, and other production equipment. Collect product samples and inspect product from belt and cartons for various defects outlined subsequent to and during training periods.
