Pasting Machine Operator
Starting pay range is $19.13 to $19.88 per hour with shift differential, plus production incentive for opportunities to earn more.
The paste machine operators' main responsibility is to operate pasting equipment such as rotary expander, or load grid panels, or spools of expanded grid metal and operate pasting machine that will paste grid metal in the production of battery plates.
Employee is required to repetitiously lift and handle scrap, grids, pallets, strip, and layer boards weighing from one to seventy pounds.
Must be able to understand and communicate in simple English to receive training instructions and perform team responsibilities.
Will produce an average number of plates per 12 hour shift:
A. Expanded- 225,000 to 300,000 B. panel-130,000
Will be exposed to lead (dust, wet paste scrap) and other hazards.
Will work as part of a 2 or 3 man line containing electrical powered machinery, ovens, conveyors, computers, and ventilation equipment.
Must comply with safety and health regulations for protection of self and others. required to shower and shampoo at the end of each work shift.
Must learn to follow quality control specifications and maintain accurate and timely spec charts if required.
Must satisfy attendance requirements as written in company policy.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Understand and use JD Edwards system.
Comply with current quality systems requirements.
Follow lean manufacturing procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Must successfully complete the level 3 material handling training and be licensed for the equipment used.
