Utilization Management Clinician (Behavioral Health)
Mental Health Outpatient CORE/IFI Services Provider located in the Gwinnett/Dekalb counties area is seeking individuals to review and audit medical records of consumers who are receiving services.
Individual will review case records to ensure proper utilization of treatment resources;review consumer records for proper case documentation, and medical necessity of treatment in relation to federal, state, and county regulations; assess continuing Treatment Plans; review records to ensure that the consumer is receiving proper and necessary treatment, and request authorizations.
Review consumer admission data, clinical documentation,ensure compliance for medical necessity and case documentation.
Assess records for appropriate treatment, after care, and discharge planning.
Provide training and information about utilization requirements to clinical, supervisory, and management staff in utilization and quality improvement meetings and projects.
Prepare memorandum, letters, and correspondence and comprehensive daily consumer status summaries.
Participate in audits of programs to ensure agency compliance on utilization review regulations.
Must have strong analytical skills and pay attention to details.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Constantly meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining good attendance.
Experience with the Audit Utilization Review process, and possess knowledge with the State of Georgia's DBHDD Provider Manual as it pertains to CORE/IFI Services.
Perform other duties as assigned.
- Masters Degree in the Behavioral Health or Social Services Field that is primarily psychological / clinical in nature.
- 2 years directly related professional experience with DBHADD Policies and Procedures.
- Knowledge with Medicaid and CMO billing codes, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge and Experience in understanding of the DBHADD Healthcare Policies and Regulations as it pertains to CORE Services.
Must pass a Nationwide Background Check and Drug Screening.
