Works in the Security Operations Center monitoring phones, alarm, cameras and radio traffic.
Supervise assigned staff to ensure quality of work.
Attend department supervisor meetings, organizes shift meetings and speaks at other departments' staff meeting/in services.
Maintain commitment to maintaining policies and procedures of the department, campus, and Beaumont Health.
Perform all the duties and responsibilities of a Security Officer as needed or as assigned.
Schedule the work of security officers based on availability of personnel, workload and employee preference, maintains departmental personnel records regarding payroll and attendance.
Trains, appraises, evaluates and handles grievances, takes disciplinary action if appropriate and makes authoritative recommendations regarding the retention of probationary employees.
Recommends new or revised policies and procedures.
Conducts investigations as required, including alleged misconduct by Security Personnel.
Ensures incidents or situations are properly recorded and reported to appropriate individuals or departments.
Assists in gathering and preparing statistical data and reports pertaining to incidents and services.
Reviews security reports and/or incidents on a daily basis in order to inform officers of any relevant information prior to the start of their shift.
Assumes responsibility for department equipment issued to Security Officers and ensures loss or damage of all equipment is reported appropriately.
Ensures a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Demonstrates a commitment to a teamwork philosophy within and between departments.
Assist Emergency Department staff with Hazmat/ Decontamination procedures to include donning and doffing of PAPR's/ Tyvek suits as well as providing security and keeping order in the decontamination area.
Assist nursing staff with physical management/ restraint of patients as ordered by a physician.
In dealing with non-patient aggressors, use defensive tactics and approved MCOLES force continuum if necessary to safeguard lives and well-being of staff, patients, and visitors.
May provide CPR/ first aid in the event of a medical emergency on the grounds or in common areas until trained medical staff can arrive from the Emergency Department (acute care) or Local Fire Department (ambulatory) as per EMTALA law.
Use proactive non-violent verbal de-escalation skills to neutralize volatile situations involving patients, staff, and visitors without escalating the event into a violent incident.

Under moderate direction, provides security and customer service to all hospital patients, visitors, and employees. The Security Officers that have received PA 330 certification will have the ability to arrest for misdemeanors and provide physical security for hospital buildings and property. This role is will provide support to the Security Managers and Supervisors.
Patrols Beaumont Health facilities and properties following designated patrol routes. Assists employees, patients, and visitors by providing vehicle assistance functions and as necessary, calls for road service. Observes buildings and grounds in order to detect illegal entry or activities and inspect equipment, doors, and windows to determine that they are functional and secure.
Responds to emergency situations throughout the assigned facility such as fire, disturbances, accidents, criminal activity, and bomb threats. Enforces security policies and maintains a log of activities during incidents. Assists with Monthly Fire Drills and Extinguisher inspections per NFPA Codes and reports observed safety hazards and malfunctioning electrical systems, plumbing leaks, heating failures, etc.
Conducts preliminary investigations on incidents occurring at the assigned facility and documents all investigative activities and incidents through the completion of daily accident, hazard, and/or incident reports.
Testifies during hearings and other legal proceedings presenting information and accounts on incidents that have occurred on Beaumont Health property when necessary.
Uses proactive defense tactics and non-violent verbal de-escalation skills to neutralize situations involving patients, staff, and visitors to prevent any violence.
Assists Emergency Department staff with Hazmat/Decontamination procedures as well as providing security and keeping order in the decontamination area.
Provides CPR/First-Aid in the event of a medical emergency on premises until trained medical staff from hospital or local safety services professionals arrive on the scene. Assists nursing staff with physical management/restraint of patients as ordered by a physician.
Security Officers with Michigan Public Act (PA 330) certification duties in addition to those above: 1. Issues citations and tickets under PA 330 enforcement authority and local city ordinances. 2. Posses, carries and uses tasers and other weapons while on active duty on premises and as determined by Beaumont Health policy & procedures.
Education: High School graduate or equivalent required.
Experience: 1 year of experience as a law enforcement officer, security officer or military security experience required. PA 330 certification preferred.
Licensure: Valid Michigan Operators License with no more than 3 points. Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) required when carrying tasers.
Outstanding interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use Windows based computer systems.
Refractory Technicians perform maintenance, repair, installation and start up of equipment in Steel Mills (Steelworks, Steel Works, Foundry, Furnace, Oven) and the manufacture of Steel. The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using the consultative sales
