Welder / Fabricator
Consolidated Sterilizer Systems is a small but growing company that designs and manufactures steam sterilizers (autoclaves) at our facility in Boston. We are currently seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to manufacture pressure vessels. Qualified candidate will work in a production shop welding ASME code pressure vessels using GMAW and GTAW welding processes. This position will require company sponsored ASME certification while employed.
· Demonstrated experience using the above processes with steel and stainless steel for a minimum of 2 years
· Experience in operating overhead & jib cranes, saws, grinders and related shop equipment
· Proficient in reading shop drawings
· Experience in the creation of jigs and fixtures
We are looking for a fast learner who can think through and solve problems, has a strong work ethic and takes pride in their work. Interest in continuous improvement and experience with lean manufacturing is a plus.

Experience in polishing stainless a plus. Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, ladder and stair climbing and occasional crawling, and twisting. Materials needing to be lifted and/or carried may weigh up to 55 pounds. Read blueprints, and/or other printed instructional material in the fabrication of products or parts. Organized and detail orientated. Knowledge of basic machining necessary.

Including pre-heat temperatures, electrode selection, welding processes, and quality control specifications in accordance with the specific metallurgical properties of material involved. Must pass weld test consisting of three stages: • 2-inch Schedule 10 stainless, TIG with argon purge, visual inspection only. • 2-inch XXS carbon steel (.625 wall), TIG root, hot pass, and third bead with ER70S-2; stick weld out using E7018.
